What is Tea?
Teas are made from the dried leaves of the Camellia Sinensis, an evergreen, tropical plant. The tea plant was indigenous to China and India and grows best in warm and humid climates with a lot of rain and light and acidic, well-drained soil. There are more than 29 listed producer countries, among them China, India, Sri Lanka, Africa and Indonesia. Due to the different climatic conditions in the tea cultivating areas, and the differing means of processing and blending, there are more than 1500 teas to choose from.
